How pallet loading is calculated

The calculator tries both carton orientations on the pallet footprint and picks whichever fits more per layer, including a mixed pattern that fills leftover space with a rotated strip of cartons. Layers stack until you hit either the maximum stack height or the maximum stack weight, whichever comes first.

How many cartons fit on a standard pallet?

It depends on carton size and pattern. On a GMA 48×40in pallet, a 30×25cm carton typically arranges in a column pattern of roughly 16 cartons per layer, stacked to your maximum height or weight limit.

What is the standard pallet size in the US and Europe?

The US standard is the GMA pallet at 48×40in (121.9×101.6cm). Europe uses the EUR pallet at 120×80cm, which is narrower and gives a different carton layout for the same box size.

How high can I stack a pallet?

Non-racked pallets are commonly stacked to 137–152cm (54–60in) including the pallet itself, though this varies by product weight and stability. Racked warehouse or container shipments often allow higher stacks — check with your carrier or warehouse for their limit.
